Adult
Education
As the central address for Jewish education
in the Greater Buffalo Jewish community, the
Bureau of Jewish Education facilitates the
coordination of adult education programs
sponsored by synagogues and agencies in the
community.
In addition
to our renowned
Florence Melton Adult Mini-School, We
are able to bring together rabbis, cantors
and educators from the community to offer a
wide range of topics and learning
opportunities. This area of our website will
highlight those opportunities as they are
offered.
The BJE
co-sponsors an annual Rabbinic Kallah with
the
Buffalo Board of Rabbis and the Jewish
Community Center. Last year's theme was
Great Periods in Jewish History and featured
five area rabbis on a wide spectrum of
historical time periods. This
always-successful event usually takes place
in the winter between January and February.
In
addition, an adult beginning Yiddish class
is being offered by Brocha Leah Greenberg on
Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm. This course
explores all aspects of Yiddish culture
including
the language, the literature and music.
Courses for
the year 2007-2008 will be announced this
summer. If you have any questions or
suggestions,
please let us know. We look forward to
hearing from you. |
